Grace Stone was a long time resident of Westmoreland, New Hampshire. She lived in the farmhouse located on the waterfront at Stone Garden until she was 99 years old. Grace Stone genuinely loved her Westmoreland community. Sometimes living in a secluded area made it more difficult for her to do that, like on Halloween. She wanted to be a part of trick or treating, but there are no houses close by. Grace decided to throw Halloween parties for all of the families to enjoy. Each year Grace would host a Christmas party, as well as the Carey Family Reunion at her homestead in Westmoreland. Her strength in family and drive to bring people together is the reason why we honor her today. Stone Garden is a tribute to the kind, caring nature of Grace Stone. It is remembrance, and a symbol of love and nurturing relationships. It was hard on Grace’s family and entire community when she passed in 1997 at 104 years old. Twenty years later, Grace is still remembered every year at The Carey Family Reunion, held at Stone Garden.
